The search is on… it’s time to get creative!
The ICPCN is looking for a universal symbol to represent children’s palliative care.
We would like your help.
As the only
international charity fighting globally for the rights of life limited
children, the ICPCN would like to find and promote a universal symbol
for children’s hospice and palliative care. We want this symbol to
become as recognisable as the pink ribbon for breast cancer, the red
ribbon for AIDS and the black and white panda for the WWF.
We have a
few ideas but decided that we would like to ask you, the international
children’s palliative care community, to contribute to this discussion
and to help us in making a final decision. Please note that this is NOT a
competition and there are no prizes other than to know that your idea
could be used worldwide as a symbol for children’s palliative care. The
creator of any symbol that may be chosen will be acknowledged through
our network.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an iconic, memorable and universally acceptable symbol (it could be a shape, an animal, an insect, or something from nature) … in fact anything that you feel would be a suitable universal symbol for children’s hospice and palliative care.
We are looking for an iconic, memorable and universally acceptable symbol (it could be a shape, an animal, an insect, or something from nature) … in fact anything that you feel would be a suitable universal symbol for children’s hospice and palliative care.
The symbol you suggest should have a meaning that relates in some way to children’s palliative care.
What do you need to do?
Send us a
colour or black and white drawing of the symbol that you are proposing
and a short paragraph with the reason you feel that this would be a
suitable, globally acceptable symbol for children’s hospice and
palliative care. Please take the following into account:
- The symbol you propose must be completely original and not a copy or close likeness of any other logo that is presently in use
- The symbol you propose can be one colour, multiple colours or black and white
- The ICPCN reserves the right to make cosmetic changes to any symbol that is chosen while acknowledging the original creator
- Pictures can be hand drawn and scanned or computer generated.
