Remimazolam,
also known as CNS-7056, is a novel, ultra- short-acting benzodiazepine.
It has a faster onset and shorter duration of action than midazolam,
with reliable metabolism to an inactive metabolite, CNS-7054, by plasma
esterases. The sedative effects appear typical of benzodiazepines and
are dependent on dose, with a wide therapeutic range. |
